Position Summary
The Esthetics Instructor delivers high-quality classroom and practical instruction in accordance with Georgia State Board of Cosmetology and Milady Esthetics curriculum standards. This position requires a professional who can inspire students, maintain compliance, and contribute to the school’s ongoing development.
Instructors at Elan Prep play an integral role in shaping student success and school culture. They work closely with administration and peers to ensure an engaging, compliant, and innovative learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Classroom Instruction – Deliver engaging lessons in esthetics theory and practical applications including skin physiology, facials, hair removal, and makeup.
- Practical Demonstrations – Model correct techniques and reinforce safety and sanitation standards.
- Student Supervision – Guide and oversee students during hands-on sessions and client clinic work.
- Student Assessment – Evaluate performance through written, verbal, and practical examinations.
- Curriculum Development – Collaborate with the Director of Education to enhance course content and ensure relevance to industry standards.
- State Board Preparation – Prepare students for licensure exams through reviews, practice tests, and simulations.
- Mentorship – Provide individualized coaching to build student confidence and professionalism.
- Record Keeping – Maintain accurate documentation of attendance, grades, and compliance records.
- Sanitation and Safety Compliance – Enforce state-approved procedures and ensure student adherence.
- Professional Development – Pursue ongoing training, workshops, and trade events to remain current in the industry.
- Collaboration and Teamwork – Work cooperatively with fellow instructors and staff to maintain a cohesive learning environment.
- Networking and Representation – Participate in industry events and workshops to strengthen community and professional relationships.
- Feedback and Communication – Provide constructive feedback to students and maintain open communication with school leadership.
- Additional Responsibilities – Support institutional goals and participate in special projects or initiatives as assigned by administration.
Schedule Options
- We are currently seeking instructors for the Day Program: Monday and Tuesday, 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM (primary instructional need)
- Initial instructor assignments may include co-teaching or half-day instruction (9:30 AM – 12:30 PM) during the Monday–Tuesday day program, with opportunities to expand into full-day, evening, or weekend classes based on experience, student growth, and school needs.

Qualifications
- Current Georgia Esthetics Instructor License or Master Cosmetology Instructor License required.
- Minimum two years of professional esthetics or spa experience; teaching or training experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.

What does the instructor schedule look like at Elan Prep?
Instructor schedules vary by program, but the primary need currently is Monday and Tuesday from 9:30 AM–3:30 PM for our day class. Additional opportunities include evening classes (6:00–9:30 PM), Wednesday or Saturday specialty classes, and clinic rotation days. Schedules are created to support student success while allowing instructors balance and predictability. Co-teaching or partial-day instruction may also be offered depending on the program’s needs.
What support does Elan Prep provide for new instructors?
Elan Prep provides a structured onboarding experience that includes an introduction to our curriculum, Google Workspace, Thryv, classroom expectations, and our student success model. Instructors receive ongoing support through weekly staff huddles, monthly program recap meetings, and direct access to the all Directors. We also provide teaching templates, assessments, and a clear outline of competencies so instructors feel confident and prepared.
What are the expectations for instructors regarding grading, attendance, and communication?
Instructors are responsible for maintaining accurate records for attendance, practical evaluations, and theory assignments. Grades and progress updates should be entered weekly. Clear, professional communication with students—including classroom announcements, feedback, and progress concerns—is expected. Instructors also review retention reports, track student milestones, and identify areas where learners may need additional support. All communication should align with Elan Prep’s standards for professionalism, clarity, and student-centered practice.
